Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American stage and screen actor best recognized for her roles in films for the movie Ray Undercover Brother and on the popular television series The Mentalist. She completed a Bachelors of Arts in African-American Studies at Brown University as well as a master's degree in Fine Arts in Acting from the Tisch School of the Arts New York University. Aunjanue Ellis works as a writer and actress, who is active on stage, in theatre and TV. The path to acting started with the theatre. Then she appeared on various TV shows as well as independent and mainstream film. Her biggest success came as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico in addition to appearing on the epic BET series The Book of Negroes. In both these roles she was praised by critics and received various nominations and accolades, among them The Television Critics Choice Award for Best Actress. She made her professional debut in the role of Ariel as Ariel in The Tempest in 1995. She has performed as a character on Broadway with roles in Come and Gone, A Winter's Tale, Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. Her film work her most well-known roles are parts like Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express or The Help. She is also well-known for her character on ABC's crime show High Incident.
